Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is there any special hardware
or software required?
A. No. Just a personal computer with an internet browser that supports
128 bit encryption. The following browsers are acceptable: Microsoft
Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher (with Secure Sockets Layer
support) or Netscape Communicator version 6.2 or higher.
Q. Is FSB Online secure?
A. Yes. Besides using 128-bit encryption, FSB Online is built
with several additional safeguards to ensure your account information
remains secure. Should someone attempt to access your account portfolio
using an incorrect password more than four times, FSB Online will
lock out the entire session from use. The lockout can only be cleared by
a First Savings Bank of Hegewisch employee. Should you forget to logout
of FSB Online, your session will automatically be terminated
after 20 minutes of no activity.
Also, First Savings Bank of Hegewisch employees will never ask you
for your password, or to email them personal information.
What if my ACCESS ID and/or PASSWORD don’t seem to work?
A. There are a couple solutions to this problem. The most common issue
is the placement of your CAPS LOCK key. Your Access ID and Password are
case sensitive. The second most common issue is a complete lock-out of
your account. If you weren’t sure of your Password, and began guessing
or didn’t realize that you were entering your Password in the wrong
case, you had only four chances to get it right. As a security feature,
we lock-out all accounts if an incorrect Password in entered on the
fourth try. The only way to reset a lock-out is to send us an e-mail
using the "contact us" section of this website or calling (800) 752-8382
during regular business hours.
Q. Why does my "BACK" button exit me out of FSB Online and Bill Pay?
Why can’t I bookmark the pages I use most often and be connected
directly to those pages?
A. For security reason, your access to FSB Online is
controlled by always having to go through a log in page where you must
have a valid Access ID (Online Banking) or User Name (Bill Pay) and
Password. To protect this, some pages within FSB Online and Bill
Pay automatically expire. In these cases, using the BACK button puts you
out of the Online Banking and Bill Pay Sites. For those same reasons,
you cannot use your browser’s bookmarks to go directly into FSB
Online or Bill pay without first going though the log in page. We
suggest you bookmark www.fsbhegewisch.com , the bank’s home page, for
easy access.
Q. What is the difference between Online Banking and Bill Pay?
A. FSB Online has teamed up with CheckFree, one of the nation’s
largest provider’s electronic bill payments. You must be enrolled in
FSB Online to use Bill Pay. Online Banking is used to check your
balances, look for paid checks, or transfer funds between accounts in
real time within First Savings Bank of Hegewisch bill payment program.
FSB Online’s bill payment program can be used to schedule monthly
payments to vendors such as credit cards, auto payments, utilities, and
more.
Q. How do I get started using FSB Online Bill Payment service?
A. When you log on to FSB Online, you will see a button titled
"Bill Pay." Click the button, and you will be given step-by-step
instructions for enrolling. Once in the CheckFree site be sure to review
all the features available to you.
Q. How does FSB Online Banking Bill Pay Work?
A. The Bill Payment service allows you to pay bills from your First
Savings Bank of Hegewisch checking account. Bill Payment eliminates the
time consuming process of writing checks, addressing envelops and
applying stamps. You will need to schedule your payments at least four
(4) business days in advance of the payment date, which is the date you
want the payment to reach your payee. You can even schedule reoccurring
payments, saving valuable time months in advance. Keep in mind, however,
that you should always have funds available to cover the payment on the
scheduled payment date. The Bill Pay service also gives you the ability
to request e-bills (electronic bills) from a payee.
Q. How soon can I start making payments using FSB Online Bill Pay?
A. Once you submit the separate online enrollment for FSB Online
Bill Pay, you can begin scheduling payments almost immediately.
Enrollment also provides you the CheckFree Guarantee protecting you
against fraud and late payments. |
